Thanksgiving at the Calwa Food Pantry

Posted on January 10, 2018

We had the privilege of feeding the hungry just before Thanksgiving. The Calwa Food Pantry was finally ready to re-open and thankfully He brought us Pam, who was ready to step into the leadership role. Word got out in the neighborhood and we were overwhelmed by the response. Unfortunately, we had to turn some people away because we ran out of food. We did, however, feed approximately 150 families. We were given 2 older freezers by The Bridge Church of Fresno which resulted in the Fresno Food Bank being generous and supplying our pantry with whole chickens and all the fixings for Thanksgiving. This was the first time these families had received fresh meat from the Calwa pantry in many years. What a blessing it was to be able to give these families a whole meal. Before we opened the doors that morning Jeff prayed over those in line. We also had a table set up for people to come to get prayed over as well as to write down prayer requests.
