Scary, debilitating, painful, anger, resentment, shame, guilt, blame, raw, forgiveness, faith, hope, Love.
One of the downfalls of ministry? Breaking down and crying in the gym shower.
When processing what took place the night before at one of our couples in crisis meetings I never know where I’ll be or what ill be doing when my heart just breaks open and I cry out to God. It was an intense meeting. You can’t begin to heal until you clean out the infection. Last night was all about extracting the “ick”. It was painful, scary, exhausting and beautiful. Voices were raising, tears were falling, fingers were pointing, and walls were breaking down. I believe God gave me the ability to see the deepest longings and hurts in the hearts of this broken couple. Even when they couldn’t see past their pain. I love the feeling of God using my mouth. He gave us both the words to say as well as the wisdom of when to speak and when to let them express their fears. What a privilege we have to have earned their trust so much that they were willing to get so raw and vulnerable with us in their presence. It was a safe place and they knew that. The ministry room in our home has seen and heard so much pain and redemption you can practically feel Gods awesome presence in it. Thank you Jesus for this home and the opportunity to serve your beloved.
